Sand Sculptures - Day 3

Mid-afternoon on Wednesday we all headed to the beach to put our sand sculpture practise from yesterday to good use. In our activity groups we were given the challenge of creating a sand sculpture of our choice in only 35 minutes, using any materials that were readily available.

The judges found it an extremely hard decision to pick only one winner as the final products way exceeded expectations. Ultimately there had to be a winner which was.....

ACTIVITY GROUP 5's RESCUE BOAT SCENE (including rescue boat, surf club, flags, boogie board and person drowning). A very impressive scene!

Second place-getters was ACTIVITY GROUP 2 with their mermaid.
Special mention must go to Seamus for making sure that she had all of her 'bits'.

Third equal went to ACTIVITY GROUP 4 for their crab and the girls from ACTIVITY GROUP 3 for their seahorse. The seahorse was beautifully sculptured, whilst the crab was made with a wide variety of materials and also included CAMP SIDEY written in shells.

All of the groups worked solidly on their sculptures and should feel very proud of their efforts. It was pleasing to see all sculptures still standing when we returned to the beach the next day.
Shark chasing it's dinner and Alcatraz

Spongebob (or is it Spongebob's mother???)
