Last Thursday evening, our school prizegiving night was held. The Y0-10 students sang a variety of songs, including Kaiako, which was dedicated to Mrs Mac who is leaving LAS this year.
We were fortunate enough to have locally raised Raylee Bradfield as our special guest on prizegiving night. Raylee sang three of her own songs, which were very impressive. The audience was just spellbound, so thank you Raylee!
This is always a time to reflect on the achievements made throughout the year. All Room 4 students were presented with a certificated outlining achievements throughout the year. One student from each year group was awarded the Academic Achievement Award, while another was chosen as the Lawrence Lions Evans Bequest for Diligence throughout the year.
It was a very difficult job for the Room 4 teachers this year as many children stood out for various reasons, but we did have great pleasure in awarding the Academic achievement awards to Caine Ritchie in Year 4 for his outstanding achievements in Mathematics, and to Melissa Gray in Year 5 for academic achievement in all subjects. The Evans Bequest for Diligence was thoroughly deserved by Lisa Young (Year 4) and Brittany Morrison (Year 5).
In addition to these awards, some other Room 4 students were awarded school trophies, which was super exciting. Caine Ritchie won the award for Water Confidence, Keegan Tunnage was presented with the Junior Speech cup and Finn Sillibourne won the Junior Athletics trophy this year.
HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to all of those students who received special awards on prizegiving night.
