Fear Factor - evening Day 4

As a finale to the Camp Concert, Adele (our amazing camp cook) had prepared a Fear Factor challenge for the groups. Each activity group had to nominate two members to be blindfolded and complete a smell challenge, one to be blindfolded and have a touch challenge, and three group members to perform an eating challenge.

The first task involved students wearing gloves as the smell challenge ended up being 'cat food'. One participant had to be stopped from tasting this challenge!

The other smell challenge was to identify cooked cauliflower.

The first taste challenge was to be the first finished eating a small helping of popping candy.
The other taste challenges involved eating lollies stuck in jelly (with hands tied behind backs) and eating hot chillies (green beans cut up) then downing a glass of milk.

The touch challenge involved finding a chocolate in a bowl of noodles coated in watery cornflour. What the contestants didn't know was that the chocolate was taped onto the outside of the bowl. It was hilarious watching them rummaging through their bowls of noodles and getting frustrated when they couldn't find the chocolate.

What a fun way to end the last evening of camp!

Camp Concert - evening Day 4

As usual, the camp concert on the final night was a highlight for most. Each activity group were given the task of performing an item of their choice at the concert, with time given to practice their items throughout camp.

We were treated to a real variety of items

• Camp Idol (the eventual winner)
• Pass the Pepper skit
• a challenge to view the ugliest man (who turned out to be Mr Gordon in the end)
• shark attack rescue skit
• a song about Camp Sidey written to the tune of "It's a long way to Tipperary"
• as well as an extremely funny 'toilet' skit, where unsuspecting 'volunteers' were asked a variety of questions about their jobs and had to sit acting out their given occupations, not realising they were actually sitting on a toilet seat. Finn had everybody in fits of laughter when asked "Who taught you?" and he replied "My Dad".

Students could also opt to perform an extra item with a friend. Erika and Dawn performed a well-rehearsed and choreographed dance for us which was enjoyed by the audience.
